{Amy Butler's Midwest Modern}

Amy Butler designs fabrics, home accessories, fashion projects, sewing patterns, and stationery goods, which she distributes globally from her studio in Granville, Ohio. Butler is the author of two previous books and has contributed lifestyle and decor stories to Country Living magazine. Her newest book titled Midwest Modern is really an invitation to her creative view on the world around her work and personal way of life. Emphasizing simplicity and integrity of craft, Butler is passionate about recycling materials, reinventing vintage looks, and taking joy in the homemade. Her approach—drawing its inspiration from the natural world and the lives of real people—is organic in every sense of the word.
It is a great resource of inspiration for all artists. I've been able to unlock lots of creative ideas for my own work by flipping through the beautiful pages of this book.In her epilogue, Amy writes, "Beauty is in the way you live. Enjoy your surroundings. Let them inspire you. Follow your own path, and approach everything you do with love in your heart." Cheers to following your own path and blessing your life with many forms of beauty! Have a great weekend!

{ Spring Fling }

Spring is here at last! Or at least it feels like it outside today. What is it about nice sunshine weather that keeps our spirits high and energy buzzing? Perhaps its because everywhere we look stores are stocked up on this season's sweetest new accessories. Even on a shoestring budget I'm able to pull together looks with the help of accessories that transform my fall basics into fresh spring style! Like this charming Emilie M. handbag for only $17! Emilie M. is a private label distributed by Mondani, who designs more commonly-known lines such as Rampage, Hype, and Adrienne Vittadini. After a little research I learned that Emilie M. handbags are only distributed to stores owned by TJX, such as TJ Maxx and Marshall's. No TJX stores in your area? No worries, Modani handbags are very similar in style to Emilie M and are widely distributed to Bon Ton and JC Penny stores. Shop on into Spring!

{ April + Showers = Flowers }

Hello and happy Friday!
These are a few photos I am working on for my floral collection on my Etsy shop called EV Photography. For the past few months, I've been steadily working on setting up an online shop of photographic prints and designs. It's been a true labor of love! I'll be sure to post the launching of my shop as soon as the presses(and I) are up and running! Etsy is a great source to buy and sell all things handmade. They have a great community of independent artists from around the world, selling everything from stationary, purses, and clothes. It's a great place to go and be inspired by all who share there craft with others. For those of you who have yet to experience Etsy and all its creations be sure to check it out!

{ New Work Space }

I was so excited to clear the clutter at work and find new life from available materials. The green tins that once used to hold green tea now serve as my rubber band and paper clip organizers! I had a feeling they had a future, which is why I held on to them and painted them a nice sea-foam green. The metal containers hold my extra office and styling supplies. I am mostly proud of having space to display my vintage cameras and whimsical bird tree, all which have been thrifty finds. They are small and simple additions to my work space that make me smile throughout the day.
