Current State of Mind

Tonight as I was powering through my treadmill run at the gym, I got to thinking about all the positive reinforcements I have in place to motivate me to get to the gym after a long day of work.  To start, I created an ipod playlist called WORK FOR IT (yes, I'm screaming to myself by putting it in caps :)  Here are just a few motivating lines from some of the songs that are on this playlist and here is where I go to be inspired by another fellow runner and all around awesomely creative talent.  What songs get you off the couch and  motivate you to move during these cold winter days? I'd love to know!

A Nice Break

While I enjoy listening a local radio station (93.9 The Light FM), this time of year because they play Christmas music 24/7 up until Christmas day, even I (the holiday fanatic) have my musical limits. Enter this 5 track digital album by Jeremy Larson - Fort Christmas and my spirits are still lifted with an added hint of indie holiday cheer. Enjoy :)

Lilith Fair

Loretta, Nora, Sarah, and Cat, oh my! What a wonderful surprise to read this week that Lilith Fair is making a return to Chicago this summer 2010! I attended my first Lilith Fair back in high school, it was my first concert and holds very fond memories for me. It's such a powerful feeling to be in attendance where women are being celebrated. Add to that a great lineup of performers, summer in the city of Chicago, and you've got one great venue that cannot be missed!
