After taking our first venue tour last weekend at a local barn, let's just say that I left feeling underwhelmed by the feeling on the space.  It seemed nice from the outside with a big red barn door and silo but the inside seemed dark and too country picnic-ish for a wedding.  What we did decide on is that we want to have the ceremony and reception all in the same place, so our guests don't have to shuffle around.  Needless to say I was in need of some major wedding decor inspiration.  I got my fill with the help of these two very different wedding styles found via Utterly Engaged.  I love the modern, sleek feel of the first space and the romantic and laid back vibe of the second.  The hunt continues for a venue.  Next up we are looking at possibly renting a tutor home located on a few acres of wooded preserved land. And I also got an idea from a co-worker to see about possibly renting out a bed and breakfast to serve as the venue.  Any out of the ordinary venue ideas you might have for me would also be greatly appreciated.  Wish me luck on my hunt!

Wedding Weekend in Cleveland OH

Hello and thank you everyone for all your sweet comments while I've been away and feeling a bit under the weather. I've been feeling a lot better.  Theresa, I think you nailed it when you said that this road trip would be just what I needed! It feels good to be back from our little weekend road trip to Cleveland Ohio.  It was about a 6 and a half hour drive from where we live in Chicago, so instead of driving we decided (last minute) to hop on the Mega Bus! It was great,  I got to catch up on some reading, writing, relaxing, and napping! And the wedding was so beautiful, our friends Annie and Steve looked stunning together and looked blissfully happy the entire night. It was so fun to mix and mingle with some of Joe's closest high school friends. We even had time to take a brewery tour at Great Lakes Brewery (yum) and enjoy a great dinner at there pub. Please excuse me when I say that I've been in rest and recover mode for this week.  The soreness has been hanging out in my glands like an annoying pest that just won't go away.  Speaking of going away, Joe and I are packing up to head to Cleveland for a long weekend to celebrate in the wedding festivities of Steve and Annie! Joe's known Steve since he was in the 2nd grade!! We hang out with this fun couple (but not often enough) and so I'm looking forward to spending time celebrating them in Annie's hometown of Cleveland Ohio.  So hopefully I'll have some fun stories and photos to share with you next week... until then, have a nice weekend! Busy like a Bee...

Hi dear friends!  Remember me? I wanted to show you what I've been up to this last week. Joe and I launched Coach House Pictures the website (yippee)! We are still working on adding more samples to the gallery pages, like of the wedding we shot for Renee and Chris last weekend!  We had a blast capturing their special day. Friday Fancies: Weddings

My Style Foodie friend invited me to partake in Cornflake Dreams Friday Fancies theme for the week.  And little did I know that it would be about a subject I've been dreaming about for the past few months.... weddings!!  I've always seen myself having a wedding close to home so I could invite all my
closest friends and family.  And so I could plan and really have my hands in all the DIY details I have in mind for my special day.  I've been collecting these images on my gmail photos link and I'm sorry to say that I don't have links to share for them but I got most of them by scrolling through sites like Grey Likes weddings, 100 Layer Cake, and Style Me Pretty- all really great places to find wedding inspiration galore!  Be sure to check out the other Friday Fancies entries too!  Happy Weekend to you :)
